HAPPY CENTENNIAL!
OUR JULY 31st 100th CELEBRATION
Despite a cool, cloudy and somewhat wet Saturday a number of hardy souls made the most of our WBPOA’s 100th Summer Celebration on July 31st. Although the wind was only a whisper most of the time, many sailboats and crew waited patiently beachside for a change in conditions. Many family groupings and individuals were also on shore with hopes for the skies to clear.
However, a number of activities helped brighten the day including beach volleyball, kayaking, paddle boarding, walking and an amazing ending flyover along the beach.
JULY 10th DROP-IN
The morning Drop-In was very successful in both the beautiful weather and a great turn out. The stations included a table to sign our 100th banner, membership sign up, water testing materials and details/purchase of ‘Save Our Water’ signs. Information and a display for purchasing our 100th Tee Shirts and Hoodies were available as well as enjoying delicious Anniversary home baked cookies!
2021 AND BEYOND – LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
Sharing the history of Woodland Beach is important. However, equally important and perhaps more so is a look to the future, to consider what is important to retain, maintain and introduce to Woodland Beach.
. What is important to the residents of the Beach, both permanent and seasonal?
. Are there certain aspects of the Beach that are important to retain?
. How does the community take the opportunity to shape its future?
Woodland Beach residents have a history of working together for the good of the Beach. Now as we look beyond 2021 at such vital issues as the environment, safety for its residents and a welcoming community for all, it is an opportunity for you to put your stamp on Woodland Beach’s future.
Woodland has the unique benefit of having a property owners’ association with volunteers who have worked tirelessly for the benefit of the Beach. Looking to the future, this is an established vehicle for residents to contribute their vision for the future direction of Woodland. In addition, our hope is that this website not only honours the past but provides a means for you to share views and insights and fashion ideas that will impact present and future generations.
